A Big Vision from a Big God
Our Vision is big, but we have a big God. It will take time to accomplish.
Our vision is in three phases. The first phase is moving to Lucca, Italy and getting integrated into the community. The first couple of years will be adjustment for our family; the kids and Sonya will be learning Italian. As a family we will be getting plugged into the local evangelical church. We will also begin using hospitality to build relationships with those in the church and those in the community. We will also begin to have one on one Bible Studies with people.
The second phase would be to raise the money to start a Robert Chapman House that will be called in Italian "La Casa del Ristoro" - The House of Refreshment. In "La Casa del Ristoro", which would be the size of a B&B house, as we go to conferences over the years and get to know pastors, elders, and missionaries we will be inviting tired servants of the Lord to come for a week or a weekend free of charge to not only refresh them physically through hospitality but more importantly refresh them spiritually through studying the scriptures together and praying with them for personal needs and for their ministry. With the goal of energizing them to go back and be refreshed to serve their congregation. Missionaries tend to last 2 ½ years and God has put in our hearts to help change that statistic.
The third phase will be working to figure out how to meet needs in the community. We would love to try and orchestrate local evangelical churches to be able to work together and meet those needs.
We would love to have Apostles of Love Ministry to meet other ministry needs such as ESL classes, Bible club in the park, etc. The Lord can take this ministry and use it as He sees fit to use it.
